A Baby Brother!!!
Yup!!! But not what you might first think. We (my wife and I) are NOT expecting a little one, but Fujimi has let it slip out that they will be releasing a NEW kit in 1/20th scale of Gilles Villeneuves cherished Ferrari 126C2! This is good news for the Formula One modeling community and it is cause for celebration!!! To do our part we are going to put together a detail kit for this new model as soon as we can get our hands on one and drive it through the development process. Taking into account the enormous amout of research we did to produce our 1/12th scale version of this famous race car, Thunder Valley F1 is in a prime position to capitalize on this opportunity and bring a great new product to market for all of us to enjoy. If you would like to be on pre-order list (no-obligation to purchase) then send us a note to: info@thundervalleyf1.com and we’ll add you to the rapidly growing list.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Paul, put me down on your list for for a detail kit. Here are my thoughts that I emailed you yesterday:
My bet is that Fujimi is doing a curbside model. If so, you could offer two different detail kits. One to just add detail to the curbside, the other could be a full blown detail set to make a full detail model. Engine/radiators, etc.
Since they’re doing the San Mario car, it won’t have a front wing. You could supply front wing and proper rear wing elements for other races. Long Beach rear wing would be very popular.
If Fujimi goes cheap and doesn’t supply the underside fairing for the front suspension, that would be nice to have.
I’m big on cockpit detail. How about some nice machined instrument panel and shifter components? Switch on steering wheel? Harnesss set? Fire extinguisher bottles in front of seat?
The transparent fiberglass brake scoops probably won’t be replicated accurately.
Proper completion of the undertray if they do it like Protar would be a must.
Sidepod/skirt area might need some photoetch pieces. Body fastener bits? Mirror faces?
Possibly turned wheels? Wheel nuts? At least air valve stems.
Better components behind/under roll bar?
Exposed engine detail? Better exhaust pipes? Rear suspension hardware bits? Rear spring/shocks?
Of course, I REALLY want a late season car………….how about a late season car transkit? New front suspension, carbon fiber cockpit surround, body, and needed added decals.
I’m sure I could come up with more/different suggestions after we have the kit in our hot little hands, but I think that some of my suggestions would ring true with most plastic kits.

You have just answered my prayers. When I first heard of the Fujimi kit, I started speculating about who might bring out a detail transkit for it. I’m sure you guys will produce a transkit that will blow our socks off!! Put me on the list, and keep me (all of us) posted on progress, please.
