In Too Deep!!!

Filed under: News — paul @ 3:14 pm

Hello,

WOW!!! Have I got a lot to do! I certainly feel as if I am in over my head and with the June 6th. “last day of school” approaching way too fast, I have a lot to address and at times I don’t know which task to work on first.

A company I did production for back in 1998 has made the decision to return to their work to me once again and the first order is big one. They have grown considerably and the volume of work certainly reflects their growth. I’m humbled by their return to having Thunder Valley take care of their work.

The sales related to my other company have taken their usual, slight summer dip, but I just received word that another distributor has picked up the product line and there are two more coming in July.

A neighbor Mom, who is a single parent, recently lost her job and she will be helping in some capacity until she finds full-time employment. Most likely she will be watching my boys along with her children and this will give me more time to work through the summer months.

Unfortunately everyone will need to continue to provide their patience while we make it through the summer, but I’ll continue to do all I can each day, including the weekends.

I must be pretty evil because I feel I’m really playing out the old saying: “No rest for the wicked”.

Please keep in touch and send me a note if you have any questions.

More updates coming to the website but most likely not until mid-June.

Kind Regards,

Paul

A Transparent Business

Filed under: News — paul @ 2:24 pm

Hello,

Recently I posted an apology and a question on www.f1m.com The apology was for what has happened with some orders and parts taking so long to complete and ship to customers and the questions was what information would you like to see on the site that would be of benefit. We proposed a “ticker” much like what the stock markets use which received some interest as well as the desire to have a dedicated page showing what is in stock and what the progress is of new kits nearing release. I still want to hear more so please let me know by sending a note to: thundervalleyf1@gmail.com

I think we will be doing both as there was equal interest for each.

We will also be adding more content which we think everyone will find usefull and interesting. I’ll announce this as soon as we are ready to add it to the site and go “live” with it.

This week was lost due to illness, my doctor and I are not certain what was going on but his comments of “call me if you have blood coming out of any opening” was rather concerning. I’m feeling better and we now both hope it was a very strange virus. Right now was not the time I could afford to lose an entire week, but what is one to do when it happens. I think by Monday I’ll be back to full speed and can once again focus 100% of my efforts on the dampers for the FW14B kits as well as processing paperwork and shipping orders.

My boys are out of school on June 7th., and this will put a burden on how I will get enough working hours to get things done. They will be going to tutoring for the summer, not that they need it, but as long as they enjoy it and it’s of benefit to them then I’ll pay for it. I may also look into having one of the neighbor moms help with watching the boys so I can get some extra hours to work.

Now, generally, I don’t like being so public with what is going on in my personal life, and if it is of no benefit then please let me know. However, I am attempting to find the proper balance of what it is you wnat and need to know so the business is more transparent and it’s easy for you to find the information or answers you want or need. I certainly enjoy hearing form everyone but I am also trying to find a way to reduce the volumne of e-mails I need to answer each day so I can focus more time to working. Again, please let me hear what you want and I’ll provide it.

Please keep in touch and take good care,

Paul

Our Future…

Filed under: News — paul @ 3:05 pm

There has been some discussion on www.f1m.com recently and not all of it has been positive, unfortunately some of it is deserved. There are major changes on the horizan for Thunder Valley and it includes deleting some products. Due to the conversations on f1m some of those have been announced now through updates within the site, and, initially, some prices have been increased. I don’t like raising prices and depending upon how discussions continue I may, in the next few days, lower those prices back down. Between now and early September I will continue to ponder what products must be deleted and may change my mind and continue to produce others. There are several new products that are ready to go into production and be released but I have not done so as I need to clean up some of my messes….mainly the dampers for the FW14B’s. (Look for a pic of those in a week or two here and on f1m).

More announcements will be forthcoming as I finalize where the company will head. To date the company has been at the break-even point which is fine with me, as returning it to operation was not with the intent to make money but to have it be self-sustaining and allowing me to share with others what I was making for myself.

Thunder Valley is, and will remain, a very transparent company, be it good news or bad.

Any concerns, thoughts, wishes, etc. please e-mail me and we’ll open it to discussion.

Take good care everyone,

Paul
