Nearly 25 years ago I promised myself, that someday, I would start a Foundation to help children. The birth of our children further solidified my deep rooted desire to help others and make a difference. When our children began school, I, as with many parents, became involved in the daily activites in the classroom. I volunteered to help with class parties, went on all the field trips and taught Junior Achievement.
During these times, I saw first hand the disparity between families that could provide all of their children’s needs and those who could not. Children who are struggling in class because they are in need of glasses, or glasses with the correct perscription or hearing aids becasue they have difficulty hearing the teacher. Children who have allergies, who have to stay inside all day because their family can’t afford the treatment that would allow them to go outside and play at recess with the other children. Children who are being thrust into the abyss of divorce or the seperation of their parents, or the loss of a loved one. As well as children who are in need of corrective surgeries due to a birth defect or deformitiy.
All of these situations can rock the foundation of a childs well-being, confidence and self-worth. Help needs to be given to these young ones, our future generations.
With the current and significant financial troubles that have swept around the globe, more families than ever have been pressed to the breaking point to provide for their children’s basic needs. Putting many needs entirely out of reach.
It’s time, to no longer think about these children’s needs and say: “That’s too bad”, but to turn these thoughts and words into actions and actually do something to help them.
This is why I have decided, it’s time to start the Children’s Bearable Foundation. Presently, the Foundation is being established in the simplest, and puriest, form of giving. There is no tax deduction to be gained by giving. Giving will allow you to experience the heartfilled joy of knowing you helped a child in need, with no strings or rewards attached. I have given to others, with and without the reward of a tax deduction, and I greatly enjoy when I give and get nothing in return. I no longer accept or take tax deductions for my giving. I simply give because there is a need.
In the future, we will establish the Foundation as a 5013c non-profit foundation and will issue the tax-deduction slips, For now, it is going to be established in the simpliest and puriest form….Simply give.
100% of all doantions will go directly to help a child. There will be no administrative fees, period. The Foundation will also operate with open books for review at any time.
This isn’t something I can do alone, the need is too great , and these children need our help.
